100 Days of Bible Promises | Process Video Day 41

ACS_0346

What’s that you say? A new process video?! That’s right, friend- I’ve got a new process video up on my channel! I’m sharing my day 41 entry from the 100 Days of Bible Promises Devotional Journal by Shanna Noel.

ACS_0345

As I mention in the video, this project has been a great stash buster for me. I’m able to use up a lot of things I have left over from previous projects and art supplies I already own ๐Ÿ™‚ I also share how I approach an entry each day- first reading the devotional, then noticing the color scheme for the day and so on.

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

When I read today’s verse, Ephesians 2:10, I remembered working through the This Is Love devotional kit from February with that same verse. And bonus! The colors of the kit went so well with today’s page in the book! So basically, a no brainer ๐Ÿ™‚

ACS_0343

I used the stamps from the kit to create a hexagon pattern with pigment ink pads and then used Neocolors to create some interest with contrasting colors. (I used colors Moss Green, Salmon and Jade Green)

ACS_0344

I also used some 100 Days Print & Pray Shop products like the Art Elements and Vol. 2 Toolbox set.

I’m so tickled to get started making more videos, I have truly missed it and connecting with so many of you! You can watch it here ๐Ÿ™‚ See you next time!

100 Days of Bible Promises Roundup | Days 29-36

Whew! I feel like I have been on a 100 Days whirlwind! I’veย feverishly been trying to get caught up with all my pages posted here on the blog, like 21 in the last two days! So let’s get started, yea?

ACS_0330

Day 29- Be Strong!

I love this little lion. It reminds me of my Nani who loved lions. And when Shawna Clingerman released this Print & Pray Shop set I knew I wanted to use it but, didn’t find an opportunity. Until now.

I journaled after I photographed the page so it does look a little bare, but I embraced the pink and orange theme! I layered some ampersand washi tape from Studio Calico, with the black cross washi from Illustrated Faith and pink and orange wordfetti. I also used the tiny colorful alphas along with one of the 100 Days toolbox words to build my title.

ACS_0331

Day 30- Confess and be Healed.

Again with the pink and orange! Today I remembered to use some of the older Illustrated Faith clear cuts pads I have. If you purchased these guys in one of the DaySpring sales and aren’t quite sure how to use them, this is a great place to start! I attach them to my page with a small stapler but you could easily use a roller adhesive or glue stick.

Again I layered wordfetti and washi tape to top off the entry.

ACS_0332

Day 31- God’s Plan for You.

Although this is such a reassuring promise for me personally, my page looks kinda…well, blue. But I know His plans for me (and you!) are good and that’s nothing to be sad about ๐Ÿ˜‰

I used the Print & Pray set 100 Days blue collage set along with some Gratitude Documented alpha stickers and a journaling pen– super easy!

ACS_0333

Day 32- Living God’s Way in this World

This is another one of my favorites! I think that has everything to do with this older digital set from Brave Little Taylor called Wild About Jesus. And the tone on tone pinks. (I hand cut the heart from a piece of patterned paper). And Katy’s brushed words sticker book.

ACS_0334

Day 33- Do Not Be Silent

I read today’s devotional and had thoughts of this microphone from Elaine Davis’ digital set Applause Journal Kit. I paired it with a stamp from the Only One You devotional kit, some Dina Wakley acrylic paint in Peacock and experimented with Liquitex acrylic ink in Quinacridone Magenta. When will I learn that I don’t like pink or red splatters? It just looks violent!

34

Day 34- Christ Died for You. This was an excellent devotional and I love the Thomas Watson quote Shanna included for the day. Seriously, this should be framed in my living room.

“It is an unseemly sight to see God humbling Himself and man exalting himself; to see a humble Savior and a proud sinner.”

I kept it super simple because I wanted to really focus on the devo and journaling for the day. I used a mix of two Print & Pray sets- Brave Little Taylor’s Red Letter Lent elements and Elaine Davis’ Easter Collage Papers.

35

Day 35- Christ in You. In light of yesterday’s devotional, this was a really sweet follow up. We are no longer living on our own- Christ is in us!

I was pleasantly surprised with how this entry turned out. Mixed media has been challenging for me in this journal. I did my best to match the colors on the page to the acrylic paint I had on hand and applied it simply with a baby wipe.

I thumbed through the loose paper pieces in my bin and pulled out anything orange or pink- mostly pieces from the You Are Loved collection. I finished it off with enamel hearts and art marks with Neocolors (in Saffron and Purple). Finally, I wanted to brighten up the paint on the page so I mimicked the orange die cut piece and took a white big brush pen to create some dashes over the dried paint. Such a fun page to create!

36

Day 36- Wait on His Timing. Easier said than done for sure. Living in an instant gratification culture certainly does not help this struggle- I guess that’s another reason to be in the world, but not just like!

I thought of patience immediately (a fruit of the Spirit!) and decided to use pieces from the Fruit of the Spirit collection (the paper pieces and the stamp set). I also added some Doodlebug alpha stickers and enamel hexagons. How have I not been using those hexies until just now?! Mind boggling for sure!

And that’s it! Tell me, if you’re journaling through this devotional what day are you on?I’ll be back with another roundup this Friday (most likely!) and will *almost* be caught up with sharing- fingers crossed!

I hope you guys have a great rest of your week!

100 Days of Bible Promises Round Up | Days 22-28

Well hello there! Thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing entries 22 through 28 my my 100 Days of Bible Promises Devotional Journal by Shanna Noel ๐Ÿ™‚ Still catching up, but we’re getting there right?!

ACS_0305

Day 22- Christ Doesn’t Change. I love this Truth!!

Just like in my last post I talked about using supplies that are already out on my desk. So since I used pieces from the older devotional kit Free to Flourish on my day 21 entry, those pieces are still handy and make an appearance on day 22! I paired the kit stickers with some green homespun alphas, the newer tiny colorful alpha stickers, enamel hearts, wordfetti and finished it off with some art marks using Faber Castell brush pens. I used the colors Pink Madder Lake and Phthalo Green– to see all the brush pens I pulled for this journal check out this post.

ACS_0306

Day 23- Who Will You Serve? A great question to spend some time with. This world is always clamoring for our heart and it’s good to have regular heart checks. ๐Ÿ™‚

I used pieces from the Fruit of the Spirit collection from Illustrated Faith- the new larger tip-ins, paper pieces (those birds!) and some card stock stickers from the 6×12 sticker sheet. Easy peasy! I later went back and included my journaling on the tip-in.

ACS_0325

Day 24- Put on the Armor of God. I’ve worked through the Armor of God study by Priscilla Shirer two times (it’s that good) and included a couple quotes from the study. She reminds us that in Ephesians 6 Paul says to put on the fullย armor of God, not just the helmet one day and the breastplate the next. We can only do battle with the enemy when we’re fully armed and fighting in prayer!

As you can see this page is pretty simple. I used the Gratitude Documented sticker sheet for those large teal alphas along with the typed words from the 100 Day Toolbox in the Print & Pray Shop. I filled in the empty space with some wordfetti and art marks using a big brush pen in Light Flesh.

ACS_0326

Day 25- God’s Love Is Always There

Today I knew I had to use Brave Little Taylor’s Print & Pray set Crazy Loved that came out in February. In the nick of time I remembered to save space for journaling because I kept sticking down ALL THE THINGS. I finished it off with a few enamel hearts and called it a day.

ACS_0327

Day 26- Finding Strength in Trust. I mentioned it in my last roundup post, but “trust” is the theme that is jumping out at me as I journal through this book. Maybe my heart is being prepared for something?

For this entry I grabbed Emily Karwoski’s Print & Pray set Wise One. I had been wanting to use it andย even thoughย today’s devotional talks about eagles I went with an owl. Remember- I am the boss of my book and you are the boss of yours. Plus, they’re both birds so I felt like it wasn’t a huge leap. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After journaling I filled in some blank space with the Illustrated Faith highlighter washi a la Shanna Noel.

ACS_0328

Day 27- Live with Endurance. Ok, perhaps one of my favorite entries. Maybe it’s all the color, maybe it was the opportunity to go through some notes from Christine Caine’s IF: Gathering talk about endurance- either way I really like this entry.

I remember creating this on my couch with my toddler playing nearby. I had just printed the 100 Days Speech Bubbles from Elaine Davis and from there decided to use a bunch of Elaine-designed things ๐Ÿ™‚ including the Delight in His Day washi tape, the 100 Days Washi Set and her latest Print & Pray release Pin It Up.

ACS_0329

Day 28- God’s Goodness in All Things

How could I not use Shawna Clingerman’s new Print & Pray set Good God?! I printed (most of) her release on clear sticker paper and kept it very simple for today’s entry.

And that’s it for this roundup! I’ll be back next week with additional pages. Let me know if you have any questions- I’m always happy to answer them!

100 Days of Bible Promises Round Up | Days 15-21

Hello there! Today I’ve got another round up of my entries in the 100 Days of Bible Promises Devotional Journal by Shanna Noel! I’m way behind on sharing so I’ll keep this short and sweet- showing you what I’ve used for each day’s entry ๐Ÿ™‚ Ready?!

ACS_0290

Day 15- Taking Thoughts Captive. As an introspective and analytical person this one is always a timely reminder for me! I used a quote from Lysa TerKeurst’s bible study Finding I AM, “as a woman thinks, so she acts”.ย  Some of my entries are photographed prior to journaling, but for this entry I kept it blank. I had plenty of time placing those alpha stickers to let the Scripture sink in ๐Ÿ˜‰

For supplies I used a mix of the Tiny Colorful Alphas from Illustrated Faith and some Studio Calico color theory alpha stickers, the 12×12 fundamental sticker sheet from the You Are Loved collection, Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron, a Tim Holtz stencil, Ranger ink blending tool and a Faber Castell brush pen in Phthalo Green. Then I topped it all off with some Illustrated Faith enamel hearts.

ACS_0291

Day 16- God’s Power in You. I saw Jill Drangsholt use this cute little Print & Pray robot set from Elaine Davis, the Wonderfully Wired Journal Kit, and knew I wanted to use them as well. I used a few more enamel hearts, another stencil with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, an ink blending tool, the Tiny Colorful alphas as well as those larger alphas from Studio Calico.

Do you see a theme? I tend to use what’s already on my desk for each entry instead of trying to reinvent the wheel every day. It works well because, from one page to the next, the colors are pretty similar. This make it possible to use the same supplies over and over!

ACS_0299

Day 17- He supplies all your needs. Amen!

This was the second day I used the 100 Days Toolbox Vol. 1 printables from the Print & Pray Shop. If you’re into pulling one word out of each day, it’s a great set to get with the theme of each day printed in this cool typewriter font.

I used the collage papers that come as a free download when you purchase the book here along with a Heidi Swapp triangle stencil and Faber Castell brush pen in Dark Naples Ochre. I topped it off with some puffy star stickers from Pinkfresh Studio and the washi tape from the Illustrated Faith devotional kit, Only One You.

ACS_0300

Day 18- Worry…or peace? This was my first attempt with watercolor in the book. I did not prep my page, but did try to use only a little water- it warped but was otherwise a success. I used a few Neocolor II water soluble crayons in Golden Ochre, Salmon, Purple and Veronese Green.

I also flipped through my stash of stamps and pulled out the set from the Doodles by Faith devotional kit designed by Elaine Davis– so fun, right?! I layered some It Is Well washi tape (just the polka dot portion) and used the tiny colorful alphas to help build my title, again using the 100 Days Toolbox printable from the Print & Pray Shop.

ACS_0301

Day 19- Trust in the Lord. (This is the theme I’ve been noticing as I work through this devotional book- God is good and I can trust Him in ALL things.)

Art wise- this is where it starts to go downhill. I was still on a mixed media kick and went to town with the Golden Ochre Neocolor crayon. I didn’t love how that tuned out and covered it with layer after layer of acrylic paint. I mostly used white but also some Robin’s Egg Blue and Jade paint (from Target). I stamped, washi-ed, and painted my heart out trying to revive this guy.

While it’s certainly not my favorite looking, I did enjoy the time I spent soaking in His reliability โค

ACS_0303

Day 20- God’s Word is alive.

I was a bit gun shy having had a major mixed media meltdown the day before so I kept it simple with some older kit elements (from the Word Nerd devo kit) and bits from the 100 Days Art Elements in the Print & Pray Shop.

Again, I don’t love this entry but I think it’s because of that same muted color scheme as the day before. I have to remember that I’m the boss of this book and can use whichever colors I like- even if they’re not found in the original artwork. And remember- YOU are the boss of your book too! ๐Ÿ˜‰

ACS_0304

Day 21- Are you content? Today I realized my contentment and lack of grumbling is not possible by my power alone. That is certainly not my default! But when Paul penned this passage while bound in chains in jail he wasn’t drawing from his own strength, but God’s. And yes, my participation is required, but contentment will not come by my will alone. โค

I loved Shanna’s artwork on this page. So much that I didn’t want to include much other than than my journaling. I did end up using this adorable bike from the Bright & Brave clear cuts pad, the Illustrated Faith highlighter washi a la Shanna and the stamp set from the older devotional kit Free to Flourish.

And that’ll do it for this round. I’ll be back soon to get us caught up on the rest of my entries! See you then!

Less Hustle, More Jesus | Illustrated Faith Devotional Kit Review

ACS_0307

Oh hey, friend! I’m back today with a look at the new Illustrated Faith devotional kit, Less Hustle, More Jesus. You’re going to love the bright colors and whimsical theme of this month’s kit (I do!) Let’s have a look!

ACS_0309

This month we’ve got eight journaling cards- four sessions of devotional content and four verse cards with lots of space for journaling on the back. My favorite? The confetti popsicle!

I love the message of this month’s kit– less hustle, more Jesus. It’s so counter-cultural! I’ve listened to social media influencers talk about “the hustle”. The message a lot of them are communicating is that one’s worth is found in what one achieves. How exhausting! If our identity is found in what we do or what we’ve accomplished then we’ll constantly need to do more to find our value.

But Jesus. If we believe the identity he’s written over our life, if we follow his lead we can get off the hamster wheel andย rest in the peace and promises he offers. Thank you, Lord!

ACS_0308

One of my favorites this month are these title-starter die cuts and how you can match them up, i.e. His truth, my hope. Plus that colorful script is sure to pop off the bible page!

ACS_0310

There are three heart tip-ins included in this kit,

ACS_0312

a 4×6 (!!!) clear alphabet stamp (such a great basic),

ACS_0311

and two card stock sticker sheets. The sheet on the right is full of wordfetti and some extra blank pieces (I’m thinking some DIY wordfetti is in my future…)

ACS_0313

From my stash I pulled a handful of Faber Castell PITT brush pens. I’m thinking about quick and simple bible journaling entries this month (which for me means no paint) and these guys are both portable and beautifully pigmented. From left to right the colors are Pink Madder Lake 129, Dark Cadmium Yellow 108, Light Green 171, Phthalo Green 161, Cobalt Green 156 and Ultramarine 120.

ACS_0314

Also from my stash I pulled a few pieces from the Delight In His Day collection (the puffy stickers, card stock stickers and washi) as well as those adorable puffy pink crosses from the Illustrated Faith basics line. The DIHD collection is so fun and I thought its whimsy a perfect match for Less Hustle, More Jesus.

So what do you think? Are you ready to slow down and spend some time journaling about His peace and perfect plans for you? If so you can get your kit here.

I’ll be back to share some of my entries created with this kit, but until then have a great rest of your week!!

โค Jillian

P.S. Included with your purchase of the devotional kit are four pages of downloadable digital content! It’s a great way to stretch your kit since you can print them over and over again for your personal use!
