Hey friends! I’ve got a new bible journaling process video up today-yay! I’ve been studying the book of 1 Peter using Jen Wilkin’s guided study and I’m learning SO MUCH. It’s been so fun to read and re-read and re-read a passage for weeks, studying it idea by idea. Nerd alert! 🙂
This week I’m in chapter two, verse nine which in the NIV says,
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
This verse tells us our identity in Christ., not to simply bolster our self-confidence but so that we’ll praise God!
In the study Jen shares what it means to be a priest and she indicates that it comes with responsibility. Priests are peacemakers. They reconcile man to man and man to God.
This stuck with me for days, because she asks us to consider how that affects our relationship with other Christians and unbelievers.
Still pressed for time, I wanted to create a quick journaling bible entry to get my thoughts down creatively. I’ve been really into this color scheme lately and wanted to create a feature on my page using them.
Be sure to watch to video to see how I used a paint card (you could use an old gift card) to create the rainbow. I added some highlighter washi, an assortment of black alphas for my title, journaling, a tab and paint splatters. Voila!
Bible journaling can include intricate hand drawn illustrations, a handful of craft supplies layered on your page, or anything in between! No matter your process, time with the Lord is our goal.
Have a great week!
