Who’s ready to study one hundred sweet promises from the Lord in 100 Days of Bible Promises by Shanna Noel?! 100 Days of Bible Promises is “a devotional journal that highlights a life-changing promise from God’s word for each day and provides space to create, journal, reflect and pray on the gift that God is whispering to your heart”.
So fun, right?! We’ll start journaling through the book as a community on Wednesday, April 3 (but you can jump in whenever you’d like). You can find more info about that here.
Since we’ll start next week I wanted to show you what I pulled from my crafty stash to pair with the book for the first thirty (or so) days. For longer ongoing projects like this I know that I will work best when I a. have a limited number of things to choose from and b. can switch things up when I need a change.
I plan to use this adorable kangaroo pouch to corral all of my supplies. And bonus- it has an elastic band that can slip over the cover of the book for easy traveling!
The pouch measures approximately 6×8″, fits nicely over the book and is great for portable journaling as well. If I had kids with extra-curricular activities I would totally tote this gal around to practices and the like.
Now let’s see what’s inside!
I love the colors of Shanna’s artwork in the book and drew from that to make my color selections. They may not be exact matches, but they’re close enough 😉
I included an assortment of alphabet stickers in my pouch, these are from Studio Calico and just fit into the bag. These will be great to mix and match on my pages for a pop pf color!
Next up- another alphabet! I picked the homespun alpha stamps because they’re a similar font to the numbers included each day. I thought it would be fun to use these to stamp one word from each promise. I also included the Elements stamp set because it’s a great basic and makes for adding quick and effortless art marks.
You’ll notice I didn’t pack an ink pad for my stamps and instead decided to use these Faber Castell PITT brush pens. Since they’re filled with india ink they’re great for getting a (messy) stamped image, highlighting or drawing. Also these will not bleed through the pages of the book. *insert happy dance here* I used colors (left to right) Cobalt Green, Phthalo Green, Light Green, Dark Naples Ochre, Cinnamon, Light Flesh and Pink Madder Lake.
Since I do plan on stamping, I’ll need an acrylic block and of course, the very most basic item we’ll all need is a pen. I prefer the .35 nib journaling pen from Illustrated Faith. And finally, I packed an assortment of enamel hearts also from Illustrated Faith. It seems fitting that each page, filled with God’s loving promises, is topped with a heart ❤
And that’s it! For now. I may come back thirty days in and switch out a couple items. I’ll also be using the free collage papers that you’re sent when you purchase the book from DaySpring. (Be sure to check out my video if you want a peek at those!)
I hope you will join us for 100 Days of Bible Promises! Mark your calendars for April 3!! And don’t forget you can pick up your copy of Shanna’s book here. (be sure to use code IFSHIPSFREE for free domestic shipping!)
❤ Jillian
