Hi, friends! My schedule is a bit off because of our church’s VBS program this week, but I didn’t want to let a week go by without sharing a new bible journaling process video! So here we are.
I’ve had the inspiration for this entry rolling around in my head for a few weeks and I was excited to finally get to sit down and create my page.
One day after a bible journaling sesh I noticed these Faber Castell brush pens grouped together on the end of my desk. I thought, wow, I really like the way those colors look together! I snapped a quick photo on my phone (so I wouldn’t forget) and cleaned up my desk. [from left to right: Light Flesh, Middle Purple Pink, Light Green and Phthalo Green]
And today I was ready to make that page! I looked through my stash to see what product more or less matched the brush pens and landed on the Fruit of the Spirit collection from Illustrated Faith and Bella Blvd. I sifted through the paper pieces first and pulled out the elements that matched.
I then went to the patterned papers, grabbed the 3×4 stamp set and my journaling bible. The first fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22 is love, and I’m not calling it a series, but how fun would it be to journal through each fruit listed in verses 22 and 23?!
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
In addition to the Fruit of the Spirit collection, I pulled some favorites to help create this entry in Mark 12:31. The Illustrated Faith highlighter washi, watercolors and journaling pen are things I reach for over and over.
I didn’t necessarily use each brush pen on the page, but I wanted to make sure each color was represented. I did end up using the Middle Purple Pink brush pen as the ink for the adorable strawberry stamp. You can see here how my page came together-it was so fun to make!
What about you? Where do you find inspiration for your bible journaling entries? I’d love to know-feel free to share in the comments below!
See you Wednesday!
