All Things New | Bible Journaling Process Video

Hey, friend! Have you picked up the latest Illustrated Faith devotional kit, All Things New, from DaySpring yet?! This may be my favorite one of the year so far! It’s filled with such great Truth and I hope you will check it out!

Today I’m sharing my session 2 entry in my journaling bible. When I read the devotional card I knew without a doubt that I wanted this large, brush scripted phrase to go on my page. The verse for session 2 is Romans 12:2 which says,

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Basically, we’re called to be set apart just like Jesus. But here’s the good news, we’re not expected to transform ourselves! (Whew!) God’s Holy Spirit is the One making transformations here. He’s the One renewing our mind. Sure, our cooperation is required, but we’re not the ones doing the heavy lifting.

I tried a really fun technique in today’s video where I used the Illustrated Faith highlighter washi like you would painter’s tape. Totally inspired by the triangles on this session’s devotional card, I wanted to recreate a similar look on my page. Be sure to check out my process video to see just how that came together. (Spoiler alert: it was pretty easy) 🙂

I used the following Target handmade modern satin acrylic paint colors to achieve this look: Heather, Lavender, Candy Apple, Coral (lightened with some Illustrated Faith white acrylic paint) and an inexpensive yellow craft paint also mixed with white.

I love how this entry turned out and the visual reminder it serves as in my bible.

I really do hope you’ll pick up the All Things New devotional kit! There are eight devotional cards filled with wonderful prompts to jumpstart your time in the Word.

Have a great rest of your week, friends!

❤ Jillian

P.S. Don’t forget to watch my process video here. K, bye! 🙂
