Hiya, friend! We’re switching things up today! Instead of journaling my last entry from the This Is Love devotional kit in my bible, I thought it would be fun to create in my hymnal 🙂
Just a quick not about this hymnal: I found this guy in my church’s choir room and knew it was not the current one we sometimes sing from. I asked if I could have it (they said yes) and have been painting in it ever since! You might also be able to find one at your local thrift shop or even online.
And a note about the cover: my sweet and generous friend Cristin gifted this custom fabric cover for my hymnal. I believe she is no longer taking orders, but give her a follow just in case she changes her mind 😉
Ok, let’s talk supplies! For this entry I used Neocolor ii water soluble crayons– they’re so dreamy! Check out how I mimicked the look of the kit’s devotional card using the Golden Ochre, Pink, and Purple colors!
I used bits from the You Are Loved collection, like the card stock stickers and washi booklet. Annnnd the new tiny colorful alphas from Illustrated Faith basics line! They’re just so cute!
I used clear stamps from the kit and the new All People All Nations line with a golden ink to create some tone on tone texture! Remember for these guys you’ll need an acrylic block (top left) for them to cling to. In a pinch you could also use the clear lid from your ink pad! If you’re new to clear stamps be sure to check out this intro here! 🙂
As always, it was so fun putting paint to paper, meditating on God’s amazing love for us. I hope you’ll check out my process video to see how this entry came together 🙂 Have a great week, friend!
