Hey, friend! I am SO excited to bring this bible journaling process video to you! I’m using the All People All Nations collection from Illustrated Faith in my new Illustrating Bible to document a wonderful time of learning and fellowship with the Brazilian population at my church.
Despite growing up in the melting pot of South Florida with family friends from places like Cuba and Trinidad, I noticed myself gravitating toward friendships with people who are in my same stage of life with the same beliefs as me. BOR-ING! And, I know that kind of comfort isn’t what I’ve been called to.
For the last couple years we’ve had a Brazilian missionary and his wife attending my church. His home church (in Brazil) sent him to minister to my church’s area (in the US). This blew my mind. Over those last two years the Brazilian population at my church has grown and they recently led a four week class all about their country, it’s history, politics and the Church’s advancement in their home nation. I even learned a little Portuguese. In fact, in my process video I’ve shared a clip of us singing a song they taught us, in Portuguese 🙂
The All People collection was the perfect accompaniment for this entry. I was particularly inspired by the quote on this tip in.
As carriers of Christ, we love all people. Seeing beauty in diversity, learning where we don’t understand and standing in awe of the Creator of every color and culture.
I chose to use gals from the Beloved Society with different skin tones and hair types to illustrate this idea in the margin. I played paper dolls and changed some of their shirts using the 12×12 patterned paper from the All People collection so they coordinated with the rest of my page.
I used a tip in to include my journaling, a simple prayer of thanks for the experience next to Psalm 133:1.
This was such a fun and meaningful entry for me to create. I hope you’ll check out the process video here.
Have a great week! ❤ Jillian
