Fruit of the Spirit- Kindness | Bible Journaling in the new Illustrating Bible

Hey, friend! I’m back with a special bible journaling process video! It’s special for two reasons. One, I’m using the new Illustrating Bible from Illustrated Faith and DaySpring. Two, today DaySpring is kicking off their Care Dare challenge on this National Day of Encouragement. You can learn more by watching my video and then head here to sign up for ways to encourage one another and show you care.

And the (bonus!) reason is I’m creating another bible entry from the fruits of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. Next up on the list is kindness which is so perfectly timed for this National Day of Encouragement! I mean, I can’t come up with this stuff!!

I’m journaling alongside Titus 3:2-5,

to slander no one, to avoid fighting, and to be kind, always showing gentleness to all people. For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, he saved us-not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy- through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

This word kindness means tender concern. It’s kindness of heart and kindness of act.

In the bible study I worked through last year the author said when we exhibit the kindness of God we are tender, benevolent and useful to others. Every action, every word will have the flavor of grace in it.

And that was the idea I wanted to highlight on my page. I chose to use difference stamps, stickers and alphabets to get this longer title down. And these huge margins gave me plenty of room to accommodate all of it!

In this bible the whole book of Titus fits on one page. And the name of each book is printed in the margin of the first page in a really cool scripted font. But in order to create this page I chose to cover it up with this acrylic paint in light portrait pink. Then I applied more color to the bottom using Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry with a baby wipe.

I added my journaling, the *adorable* strawberry stamps from the Fruit of the Spirit stamp set, more stickers and aqua enamel hearts.

This was such a fun, quick entry to create with a timely message. I hope you will sign up for the Care Dare challenge! Be sure to use #DaySpringCareDare when you share how you are encouraging others and tag me (@hellojillsky) so I can cheer you on 🙂

❤ Jillian
