Whew! I feel like I have been on a 100 Days whirlwind! I’ve feverishly been trying to get caught up with all my pages posted here on the blog, like 21 in the last two days! So let’s get started, yea?
Day 29- Be Strong!
I love this little lion. It reminds me of my Nani who loved lions. And when Shawna Clingerman released this Print & Pray Shop set I knew I wanted to use it but, didn’t find an opportunity. Until now.
I journaled after I photographed the page so it does look a little bare, but I embraced the pink and orange theme! I layered some ampersand washi tape from Studio Calico, with the black cross washi from Illustrated Faith and pink and orange wordfetti. I also used the tiny colorful alphas along with one of the 100 Days toolbox words to build my title.
Day 30- Confess and be Healed.
Again with the pink and orange! Today I remembered to use some of the older Illustrated Faith clear cuts pads I have. If you purchased these guys in one of the DaySpring sales and aren’t quite sure how to use them, this is a great place to start! I attach them to my page with a small stapler but you could easily use a roller adhesive or glue stick.
Again I layered wordfetti and washi tape to top off the entry.
Day 31- God’s Plan for You.
Although this is such a reassuring promise for me personally, my page looks kinda…well, blue. But I know His plans for me (and you!) are good and that’s nothing to be sad about 😉
I used the Print & Pray set 100 Days blue collage set along with some Gratitude Documented alpha stickers and a journaling pen– super easy!
Day 32- Living God’s Way in this World
This is another one of my favorites! I think that has everything to do with this older digital set from Brave Little Taylor called Wild About Jesus. And the tone on tone pinks. (I hand cut the heart from a piece of patterned paper). And Katy’s brushed words sticker book.
Day 33- Do Not Be Silent
I read today’s devotional and had thoughts of this microphone from Elaine Davis’ digital set Applause Journal Kit. I paired it with a stamp from the Only One You devotional kit, some Dina Wakley acrylic paint in Peacock and experimented with Liquitex acrylic ink in Quinacridone Magenta. When will I learn that I don’t like pink or red splatters? It just looks violent!
Day 34- Christ Died for You. This was an excellent devotional and I love the Thomas Watson quote Shanna included for the day. Seriously, this should be framed in my living room.
“It is an unseemly sight to see God humbling Himself and man exalting himself; to see a humble Savior and a proud sinner.”
I kept it super simple because I wanted to really focus on the devo and journaling for the day. I used a mix of two Print & Pray sets- Brave Little Taylor’s Red Letter Lent elements and Elaine Davis’ Easter Collage Papers.
Day 35- Christ in You. In light of yesterday’s devotional, this was a really sweet follow up. We are no longer living on our own- Christ is in us!
I was pleasantly surprised with how this entry turned out. Mixed media has been challenging for me in this journal. I did my best to match the colors on the page to the acrylic paint I had on hand and applied it simply with a baby wipe.
I thumbed through the loose paper pieces in my bin and pulled out anything orange or pink- mostly pieces from the You Are Loved collection. I finished it off with enamel hearts and art marks with Neocolors (in Saffron and Purple). Finally, I wanted to brighten up the paint on the page so I mimicked the orange die cut piece and took a white big brush pen to create some dashes over the dried paint. Such a fun page to create!
Day 36- Wait on His Timing. Easier said than done for sure. Living in an instant gratification culture certainly does not help this struggle- I guess that’s another reason to be in the world, but not just like!
I thought of patience immediately (a fruit of the Spirit!) and decided to use pieces from the Fruit of the Spirit collection (the paper pieces and the stamp set). I also added some Doodlebug alpha stickers and enamel hexagons. How have I not been using those hexies until just now?! Mind boggling for sure!
And that’s it! Tell me, if you’re journaling through this devotional what day are you on?I’ll be back with another roundup this Friday (most likely!) and will *almost* be caught up with sharing- fingers crossed!
I hope you guys have a great rest of your week!
